Sonrics MIMP
Release Date: Unknown
Colors: 16
Sculpts: 48
Location(s): Mexico
Sonrics MIMP were made in Mexico and were packaged with candy, comics and badges. They were released in 16 colors: Dark Red, Red, Orange, 3 shades of blue, 3 shades of Purple, 2 shades of pink, 2 Shades of green, yellow, black and clear.
The Clear were the most rare, and along with the Black are the most popular. Rarity otherwise seems to be at random. All 48 Series 1 Monsters were released and the sculpts are the same except for the size.
The size of the sculpts is smaller than the Matchbox MIMP and bigger than the Italian and Peru MIMP. The sculpt quality is not as good as the Matchbox, as there are often excess plastic or slight feet deformities. Also any yellow, green or clear figures are almost always stained usually by red fade. This is probably due to the higher temperatures in Mexico.
The real highlight is the diversity and brightness of colors. This is where the Sonrics series really shines as they are so much brighter and more vibrant than the Matchbox Series 1 (except for the promo series).
According to Sonrics Collector Jorge Coleccionista, the following colors appear in all 48 sculpts: Black, orange, turquoise, bright purple and pink. Darius Dave has also stated that Bright Purple, Orange, Turquoise, Aqua, Royal Blue and Pink include all 48 sculpts.
Thanks to Paul Sewell for informing me about various color updates for the guide and bestiaries.

Italian Series 1
Release Date: 2003
Colors: 5
Sculpts: 48
Location(s): Italy
There were 2 waves of the Italian figures, and the only difference was a slight difference in size and the addition of the Gold color in the 2003 wave. I do not know the exact size difference.
The Italian MIMP come in 5 different colors: Orange, Green, Yellow, Blue and Gold. None of the colors are any rarer than the others, but the Gold color sells for much more because it is so popular.
Italian MIMP are smaller than the US and Sonrics, but still much larger than the Peru MIMP. The sculpts are the same as the US and Sonric figures except that the quality is much worse. Extra flesh and deformed feet and other parts are very common on Italian figures and it is extremely rare to find a perfectly molded figure. None of the figures had point values.
The line also came with its own set of cards that are for use with the Italian Monster in My Pocket Board Game, which is the most fun of the MIMP games I have played. The Italian MIMP were not very popular in Italy and are posted less often than some of the other sets. But they were not especially rare.
Note: this section covers only the series exclusive to Italy, but the Matchbox were also released there.
Thanks to Stefano Zampieri for providing a previous picture of the Italian T-Rex.

Greek Series 1
Release Date: Unknown
Colors: 23+ (Exact total unknown)
Sculpts: 12
Location(s): Greece
There were only 12 sculpts made in the Greek set and they were sold by El Greco. They were made in many different colors and the most common appear to be Pink and Dark Purple. There has not been a complete color list found and it is possible that there are multiple shades in each color. In addition there are solid colors, translucent figures, transparent and semi translucent figures. I have listed all translucent/transparent figures together as Clear for ease, but there are often different levels for each color/sculpt.
The figures are rubber and slightly harder than the Matchbox. Instead of a point value, the monsters have the number on the back (1-12). I have noticed that many of the figures have extra knobs of plastic that look like tiny rubber nipples. Not all of the figures have these and I have yet to find any reason as to why they do. Many of the figures also have excessive fleshing (excess plastic) and some have facial deformities. Some also have a ring on the top of the figures, presumably to hang it, but no explanation has been found for the difference in origins between ringed and ringless figures.
Huge credit to Stefano Zampieri for the list of the monsters released, numbering, several dozen pictures, and the maker of the figures. Credit to Paul Sewell for more than a dozen pictures and color information. Thanks to Eric Montelongo for a correction on figure hardness.

Monster in My Pocket Generation 2 (2006 Series)
Release Date: 2006
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 48
Location(s): UK, Australia, Peru, South Africa and other parts of Europe (possibly more locations)
The 2006 series was a complete reboot of the original MIMP. It included figures that were in Series 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the original MIMP line and changed the looks dramatically. Instead of mono-color rubber, all of the 2006 figures were painted plastic. They weren't hard plastic like the dinosaurs, and the paint applications were far better than any other MIMP series.
The point values were hidden on the bottoms of the figures and only could be revealed with decoders that were sold with the figures. The sculpts of the figures are generally very good and the paint is also well done. Often the paint applications look different and unique with each figure, though the 2006 line did not have variant colors.
The size of the 2006 figures is similar to that of the Monster Wrestlers in My Pocket. Also they went for a more muscular design like the wrestlers did.
The harder to find figures came from the second series of the 2006 line and some were only released in specific countries. Ghost is the hardest to find and only released in Australia. Poltergeist is another hard to find figure. There were also a few prototype Griffin and Haniver released that sell for more than the regular versions of these figures (see pics of the Griffin prototype below next to the released version). Most of the Series 1 and 2 are commons however and sell for a little more than the original MIMP because they were not released in North America.
Mummy and Grim Reaper came with the Monster Showdown game. Vampiress and Poltergeist were released with the Haunted Mountain Playset.
Thanks to Tim Faulkner for the original pictures of Grim Watcher and The Phantom. I have since acquired my own and added their pictures instead. Haniver Prototype figure shamelessly stolen from LRG and the original owner is unknown.

Bootlegs, Kitbashes, Customs and Other Oddities
Bootlegs
Mexican Bootlegs
Mexican bootlegs are very popular and often go for higher prices than the legitimate figures. Especially the neon and translucent figures.
The other bootlegs are usually either hilariously bad knockoffs of actual Sonrics figures or boots of the black and clear figures that are used to replace the originals (or cheat unsuspecting buyers). Note that real Clear Sonrics are not entirely translucent and look slightly cloudy. Any that are totally clear are most likely customs or bootlegs. For black figures it is also common to paint them black to try to pass them off as real figures
This gallery is not a comprehensive list, but will include all my bootlegs Sonrics and any contributed pictures.

Kitbashes - Taking pieces from MIMP toys to create new sculpts
B.A.S.T.A.R.D.S
This line took many old 80's and 90's toys and mixed their parts together to create new weird amalgamations. They used pieces from Mini Boglins, Ghostbusters, MUSCLE, MIMP, and TMNT (and probably some I have not heard of). I only include the ones including MIMP here. The list only includes the figures I have and may not be exhaustive. Also I am not aware if the sculpts were named or just left to your imagination.

Unknown Figures and Unreleased Lines
Unknown Figures
These 3 figures were discovered by Al Sharpe and it is still unclear whether some or all of them are prototypes, customs, or something else. The Undine and Windigo have all the marking of a typical Matchbox figure, but the Vampire does not. I will include Al's comparison pictures and comments verbatim:
"- Undine & Vampire are rubber, which feels, smells and squishes like MIMP rubber
- Windigo is slightly firmer that MUSCLE material, with some bend in the extremities
- Windigo has mold lines DIFFERENT to a regular MIMP Windigo
- Look at the lines around Windigo's feet - thicker than regular Windigo in comparison shots
- Windigo feet markings are 'upside down' compared to all other Windigo's I own
- The pink one is a couple of mm taller than a regular one, particularly noticeable with the hair quiff
- The forearm hanging hairs on the pink one are sculpted slightly differently, both in shape and line details, compared to regular ones
- Vampire is GITD and the glow is identical to the Ghost glow, yet the rubber tone is a little 'greener' compared to the more milky white of a regular GITD MIMP figure
- Vampire has no points value or feet markings
- Undine is fully marked and has a points value - it is fully grey in colour, a deep rich grey, rather than painted or faded
- Undine also appears to have a slightly thicker line around its base compared to a regular Undine"
If you have any additional data, please let me know.

Monster in My Pocket: The Quest
Very little is known about this line other than a few pics like the one below. It appears that it would have included the original Series 1 MIMP in new colors, as well as some larger versions of the same monsters. Unfortunately, the line never came to pass, and to my knowledge none of the prototypes have been found...
Evolution 2013
The license to the line was sought by Evolution in 2013, as they intended to reboot the set with some figures that would work with electronics (think Amiibo Monster in My Pocket). Some apparent prototypes in Gold and other colors reached eBay, but the line itself was repeatedly pushed back. At this point it has not been released and will probably never see the light of day.
