Matchbox Series 1
Release Date: 1990
Colors: 15
Sculpts: 48
Location(s): US, UK, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada, and many more countries
The first series of Monster in My Pocket was released in 1990. The figures initially came in 4 colors: Red, Olive Green, Yellow, and Purple. Each monster was released in multiple colors (but many were not made in all 4 colors). The monsters each had their own point value ranging from 5 to 25 points, with higher points meaning more powerful monsters. The points were to be used for a War style Monster in My Pocket game. But most people just collected the figures because they were cool, rather than playing the game. The Red and Yellow Kali and Catoblepas were only released with the Monster Clash game.
The series was later released in neon colors (hot new colors!) and this is where the series gets tricky. There were 4 neon colors that were all brighter versions of the base colors: Neon Red, Neon Yellow, Neon Green and Neon Purple (aka Thistle). Unlike the base colors, every monster was released in all 4 colors. But certain colors were only released in certain countries (France and Africa were the primary beneficiaries). These figures generally are harder to find, though they don't always sell for more.
In addition to the Neon and Base colors, there were also Premiums released in several other colors including Pine Green, Cyan, Pink, Light Orange, Series 2 Neon Green, and Glow in the Dark. These were released with various memorabilia including battle cards, the board game, 24 Packs, and a New Jersey Arcade. The Arcade monsters are considered the rarest of the promotional figures.

Star Monster Jotun Troll
On the back of the Secret 12 packs it mentioned a special monster with a star for a point value. The Prima Checklist actually just showed a Jotun Troll with a star. It took many years but several Star Trolls have been found. So far they have been found in Purple and Neon Red. It is unknown how many exist.
Also there was a fake troll sold for big bucks several years ago (See the last picture below)
Thanks to Little Weirdos for pics of the Purple Star Troll and comparison pics.

This cold-blooded killer is easily distinguished by his seven horny heads - each controlling one of the seven seas. From his headquarters in a remote jungle, he has the ability to create floods and raise tides throughout the world. If you should ever find yourself face to face with this slithering, slimy creature, offer yourself to the most "handsome" head. Species: Giant herbivore
Born: Between the I and the XII century A.C.

6: Tyrannosaurus Rex - The king of the dinosaurs
Point Value: 25
Available Colors: G, P, NP, NG, NR, NY, Pine, Orange
Matchbox Trading Card Text:
Species: Dinosaur
Born: During Prehistoric Mesozoic Era
Habitat: Remote islands in the Caribbean
Tyrannosaurus Rex or "T.Rex" as his friends call him is the king of the dinosaurs. He lived in the prehistoric times and was thought to be just another old fossil until he was reawakened by a violent earthquake on his remote Caribbean island. Rising from the ocean he uses his gigantic stubby legs to kick over anything that gets in his way, and his enormous "whale tail" can clear an entire acre of land with one wag. Taller than most buildings, this amphibious creature doesn't mess with eating people, he eats whole cities (and usually a suburb for dessert)! It's no wonder this entire species became extinct millions of years ago, they probably couldn't find anyone to play with.

Available Colors: R, Y, NP, NR, NG, NY, Orange, Pink
Matchbox Trading Card Text:
Species: Sea Serpent
Size: 1 mile wide
Born: First sighted in 1555
Habitat: Lives in the deepest, darkest oceans
Perhaps the most awesome sea monster ever, Kraken is actually bigger than Yankee Stadium! When seen from the distance, Kraken appears to be a deserted island sitting in the middle of the ocean. However, if you approach this "island" you will be met with a pair of great glassy eyes and a set of sharp teeth - so large they are often mistaken for icebergs! When this guy's hungry he will feast on a large ship. Using his long tentacles to pluck men from the deck, Kraken will swallow these tasty morsels as an appetizer. Then the powerful monster will wrap his eight arms completely around the ship, pulling it to the depths of the sea and eating the remaining crew for his main course. Although he is surprisingly powerful for such a small creature, this bearded wonder is really known for his skills using clubs and spears. The Jotun Troll is also much more intelligent than the giant trolls. (If you thought that two heads were better than one - just imagine having eight!) Nicknamed the "Talking Heads" you have probably guessed that this guy's secret weapon is his ability to talk you to death!

Point Value: 15
Available Colors: G, R, NR, NP, NG, NY
Matchbox Trading Card Text:
Species: Reanimated Corpse
Created: At Geneva in 1818
Habitat: He lives in europeans towns
In 1818, a young chemist named Victor Frankenstein attempted to build a 'perfect' human using parts from dead bodies. Unfortunately, his final creation was far from perfect - the monster received the brain of a murderer by mistake, making him very violent. He was quite ugly, couldn't talk, and had bad manners to boot! A bolt of lightning brought this monster to life, giving him superhuman strength. He had a hard time making friends and was often chased and stoned by the villagers. When Victor refused to build him a girlfriend, he became angry, killed several people and left to lead a life alone in the Arctic wastelands. This is definitely a moody guy!

Habitat: Lives deep beneath the desert in the Middle East
What do you feed a monster that is 12 feet long, has the body of the lion, the tail of a scorpion, and the head of a human with three rows of sharp teeth? Anything he wants of course! The ferocious, man-eating Manticore has powerful blue eyes and the voice of a trumpet, but don't expect to see him at your next rock concert. This "low life" lives deep beneath the desert, close to the center of the earth. The Manticore runs as swiftly as the deer, has the ability to leap over small buildings. She is known to give children rides and bring them home for dinner - unfortunately, the children are the main corse! Baba Yaga lives deep in the forest in a "tastefully" decorated house. Species: Animal hybrid
Born: 4000 years ago in Africa
Size: 4 Feet High with 4 Foot Wings
Habitat: Lives on the Ethiopian border near the Nile River
Although he's the perfect pet for Medusa [#26], you probably wouldn't want this monster sleeping under your bed at night. Catoblepas has the wings of a dragon, the body of a buffalo, and the head of a wild hog. He not only can't fly, but drags his stomach through the mud as he lazily waddles across the ground. Catoblepas rarely lifts his fat head to look up, but if he does - watch out! His stare will turn you to stone faster than you can say "Buffalo Wings", (which incidentally were named after him). The Goblin is the meanest, sneakiest and ugliest of all the fairy creatures. He stays away from the sun, choosing to live in caves abandoned mines, and sometimes in sewers (Sewers?...Cowabunga!) These evil little beasts will often appear in disguise as a hideous bird, a dog with wings, or a big furry cat that will let out a bloodcurdling scream if you stretch out your hand to pet it. Goblins possess great strength. Their favorite food is "turtles on the half shell!" They are known to steal young maidens, who are then forced to raise the young Goblins and to serve as dancing partners for these monsters. Their favorite dance...the "Monster Mash!"

Available Colors: R, P, G, Y, NR, NG, NP, NY
Matchbox Trading Card Text:
Species: Fairy
Born: England during World War I
Size: 20 inches tall
Habitat: Underground, near airports throughout the world
Surprisingly enough, these impish monsters are responsible for many of the great technological developments earlier in the century. However, since they never received any credit for this, they have dedicated themselves to making people's lives miserable - especially airplane pilots. Gremlins love to fly, but since they have no wings they will sneak aboard airplanes and create mischief. This includes changing the plane's direction, breaking the radio, causing turbulence, overbooking flights, and drinking the fuel. (They are so fond of gasoline, they are known to vacation at major oil spills!) So next time you're aboard an airplane and it starts to get a little bumpy - make sure you are sitting in the "No Gremlin" section!

His airtight coffin was later discovered by archaeologists who failed to heed the "do not disturb" sign...a fatal mistake! This powerful monster brutally strangled these intruders, and now roams the countryside in search of those who buried him thousands of years ago. The Mummy is known to place a deadly curse on anyone who tries to stop him. This bandaged beast cannot be destroyed by guns, knives or even slime! Having the characteristics of a "giant oily rag" the Mummy can be stopped by fire, but will one day rise from the ashes to resume his search for his enemies.

Born with one leg shorter than the other and one eye swollen shut, Hunchback was cruelly abandoned in a church by his parents and raised by a priest. Unfortunately, he grew uglier with age - a large wart appeared over his good eye, his uneven teeth grew over his lip, and as a result of not sitting up straight at the dinner table, he developed his trademark hunchback. He later became deaf from ringing the bells in the cathedral. Not a terribly popular fellow, he was befriended by a Gypsy dancer. Sadly she was later executed for a crime she didn't commit. Hunchback murdered her accusers and retreated to the bell tower where he pours hot lead on top of anyone who approaches. Matchbox Series 2
Release Date: 1991
Colors: 5
Sculpts: 24
Location(s): US (limited), UK, other areas are unknown
Series 2 was given a more limited release than Series 1. It was released in the US and some of Europe but the release was only in certain areas. Also several monsters were recalled in the UK (Ganesha and Herne). This caused the price of Ganeshas to be higher than that of the other figures, with a few exceptions. It also caused a couple of Series 1 figures to replace them in the 12 Packs (Ghost and Cerberus).
Series 2 was released in 4 base colors: Orange, Blue, Green and Pink; and one premium Glow in the Dark color that came in the Monster Cauldron. Each figure was released in all 4 regular colors with the rarest ones being Orange Ganesha, Green Dragon, Pink Jabborwock and Blue Jabborwock. The Glow monsters were limited to Ancient Gorgon, Ectoplasmic Phantom, Elbow Witch, Bloody Bones, Dryad and Undine (Ghost and Cerberus were released with them, but they are Series 1 MIMP).
The series 2 upped the point value on monsters to 10-30 and was the last monocolor series to be mass released in the United States. But many US collectors had to settle for the ones we got in the Spaghetti O's mail-away offer.
Apparently several names of the monsters were changed after the Ganesha/Herne recall. Ymir became Frost Giant, Golem became Clay Man, Scorpion Man became Human Scorpion, Sebek became Crocodile Man, Dryad became Forest Dweller, Undine became Sea Maiden, and they also misspelled Cerberus as Cerbeus for the checklist. Discovery and pictures of these changes are courtesy of Al Sharpe (see below in the checklist section for pictures).

Matchbox Series 3
Release Date: 1992
Colors: 8
Sculpts: 9
Location(s): US and Canada
Series 3 was released by 2 different promotions. Big Boy Restaurants in the US and the Shreddies Cereal in Canada. The figures are slightly different in colors and some have other differences (see below). Shreddies were released in Orange, Green, Blue and Pink. Big Boy were released in Purple, Orange, Green and Pink. Blemmyae is the lone exception as he was released with the NES Monster in My Pocket Video Game.
The Shreddies were all soft rubber. But for the Big Boys series 3, the following monsters were released in hard plastic: Leviathan, Anubis, Centaur, and Siren. The other figures are the same material as the Shreddies. There are apparently soft rubber versions of those sculpts as well at least for the Abominable Snowman and Anubis.
Orobas was only released in the Shreddies promotion, so he only appears in 4 colors.
Centaur was a totally different sculpt for the Big Boys figures, as they included bangles on the arms and were a harder plastic, while the Shreddies had no bangles and were all the normal soft rubber. There have been Centaurs discovered with no bangles in both Green and Purple, so they probably exist in all 4 colors. Leviathan has at least 3 colors released with an upside down point value in both Shreddies and Big Boys, so they probably exist in all 8 colors as well.
Big Boys MIMP are more sought after than Shreddies colors with Purple being the most popular. Shreddies Blue is probably the most popular color from that promotion. The series 3 figures are not particularly rare, but continue to command higher prices than the other Matchbox series because of their popularity and status as promotional figures.
Figures number 82-96 were never released and are known as the Lost Monsters. These 15 were supposed to be Achelous, Ankou, Banshee, Catarenha, Djinn Shapeshifter, Genie, Grendel, Hairy Boggart, The Headless Man, Hieracosphinx, Hodag, Jabalius, Sciapod, Talus and Troll. The names are known because these monsters had cards made for the Sonrics card series. But the figures were never created.
Credit to Stefano Zampieri for the list of hard plastic Big Boys. Thanks to Paul Sewell and Chris Lanberg for more information on the soft/hard rubber Big Boys.

Matchbox Series 4 Super Scary (Released as Series 3 in the UK)
Release Date: 1991
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 24
Location(s): US, UK, possibly other areas
The last series that was released in the US, the Series 4 were the first series that were painted. They were larger than the previous series and more squishy. Series 4 is probably the least popular series in the MIMP line. The point values continued to increase with 50-100 point monsters appearing. The 100 point monsters were glow in the dark green or glow in the dark yellow, while the other point monsters did not glow.
The primary colors used for the rubber were green, purple, red and yellow and these had paint applications of dubious quality. The paint was splashed on and usually ran onto other parts of the sculpt than intended. Each monster had at least 2 different variants, with the lower point monsters often having 3. The Purple monsters tend to fade easily and often look pink. This is not thought to be a variant color.
There was also a set of promotional figures released in the UK that were partially painted or not painted at all. These were slightly less common than the regular series but still low priced because few collectors liked the series 4. Also there is some potential for fraud as the paint can be easily removed from the series 4 figures.
It appears that Hanuman was recalled in the UK, as another checklist has been discovered with Hanuman omitted and several names changed on other figures. Hanuman's price seems to be the same despite the recall, presumably because of the lower demand for Series 4.
The last few series of MIMP were only released in Europe, where the MIMP figures sold much better than in the US.

What Makes These Monsters Super Scary?
Here they are - the wildest, scariest, most outrageous collection of real monsters ever assembled! And every single one of them is worth at least 50 points, with 6 rare glow in the dark 100 pt. value monsters included, more than even the highest value monsters in either series 1 or 2. You know why? Because every one of these monsters is a big, bad, super-scary dude. Put these guys in your pocket - and scare the pants off your friends!

Look for MONSTER CLASH SKILL/ACTION GAME and challenge your friends to an exciting battle to the finish.
And if you run out of room in your pockets to carry all your monsters, now there's this great MONSTER POUCH, which is just what the doctor (Jekyll, of course) ordered.
Keep your eyes peeled, because coming soon is the MONSTER HAUNTED MANSION PLAYSET, where monstrous deeds will surely be done and SUPER SCARY HOWLERS with eerie sounds and light-up eyes that will surely scare the pants off your friends!

Matchbox Series 5: Super Creepies
Release Date: 1992
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 24
Location(s): UK, Germany and some other parts of Europe, possibly other areas.
The series 5 were the first series of MIMP to veer from the original concept. Instead of monsters, the series focused on insects and arachnids. But these weren't realistic bugs, instead they were like bad kindergarten jokes in plastic form. And yes, these were the first series to be all hard plastic instead of rubber.
Horse Fly became a fly with a horse head and saddle, Wolf Spider is a spider with a wolf head, and Stink Bug...well he is a bug with a pile of crap on his back. Literally, they actually sculpted a turd mound on him. Needless to say this series was not a big hit, though it was certainly original. The point value for the figures went above 100 for the first time, continuing the climb that began with series 2. The Spiders were 200 points while the lowest point value figures were 50.
The colors were more limited and the sculpts were still badly painted. The primary colors were Orange, Neon Red, Olive Green, Neon Green and Yellow. Each bug typically came in 2-3 of the colors (and a few like the Horse Fly had a variant paint job in the same color) Then the paint applications added more colors. This was the first series to have no promotional figures released. And though some of the color variants are slightly rarer, there seems to be little difference in the prices for the common/uncommon figures.
The series was called the Super Creepies, but in fact they are the least scary of all the sets. They were more about bad puns and funny sculpts than being scary. The series 5 were entertaining, but not representative of the MIMP toyline.

Matchbox Series 6: Dinosaurs
Release Date: 1993
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 24
Location(s): UK, Germany and some other parts of Europe, possibly other areas.
Series 6 continued the series trend of not using monsters and made an entire series of Dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures (and a Cave Man). They are large, hard plastic, painted figures much like Series 5. They were released in the UK and Europe and were based on real dinosaurs as opposed to literalist interpretations of bug names.
They included base colors of Orange, Purple, Olive, Dark Green, and Brown, with colors added via the paint applications. The dinosaurs usually came in 2-3 colors and several of them had different pain schemes with the same base color. The point values ranged from 55 to 150 points. The figures also came with Fact Cards in the one and two packs. The Fact Cards included biographical info instead of being used to battle.
Like the bugs there weren't any promotional figures for the Series 6 dinosaurs and there are very small price differences between the rarer sculpts. The hardest sculpts to find seem to have come only in the 2 Packs (this is a hypothesis, based on seeing 3-4 of the packs).
The series was popular enough that they spawned a second series of Dinosaurs...

Series 6 Checklist and other information
Monster In My Pocket, the Legend continues...with Dinosaurs - the original monsters!
Millions and millions of years ago, dinosaurs lived on earth. They were the most dominant creatures for nearly 150 million years - an astonishing length of time. Fossils discovered all over the world tell us what the dinosaurs looked like, and reveal a lot about how they must have lived.
Then, about 65 million years ago, dinosaurs were wiped out in a mass extinction. No-one knows precisely what happened to kill off the dinosaurs - it could have been a huge volcanic eruption, a meteorite, a sudden change in the earth's climate, or a drop in the sea level as the continents shifted and changed their shape. The fate of dinosaurs remains a mystery to this day.
Now you can collect 24 of the most amazing dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures that ever existed, each with its own point value - just look on the back of each one.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Dinosaur Volcano coming soon - the monstrous home of all prehistoric creatures!
And watch out for later additions to the dinosaur collection - if you can handle any more reptilian relics!
Although they lived for a very long time, even the Dinosaurs didn't live forever - so you'd better hurry because the next Monster In My Pocket collection could be evolving now...!

Matchbox Series 6: Secret Skeletal
Release Date: 1993
Colors: Painted (2 per sculpt)
Sculpts: 24
Location(s): UK, France, Germany and the rest of Europe
The Secret Skeletal Dinosaurs were repaints of the Series 6 Dinosaurs. All of the same sculpts were used, except that the paint applications used different colors and the skeletons would show up on the dinosaurs when exposed to extreme temperatures. Also they were released in much smaller quantities and I am not sure if they were sold in anything but single packs (the packs also included fact cards).
The fact cards are numbered differently from the figures as they start where the last series began. They also have point values different than the series 6 dinosaurs (10 points higher for each sculpt from the few I have seen).
The colors used in the secret skeletal figures were Blue, Purple, Olive Green, Dark Green, and Orange. The paint applications included more white and black colors than the Series 6 Dinosaurs. Also each dinosaur came in only 2 different colors for this series. The point values remained the same as the original sculpts.
The prices on the Secret Skeletals are much higher than the Series 6 Dinosaurs. They tend to be more difficult to find especially in the rarer colors. The prices of the Secret Skeletals are still not that high compared to Series 3 and the rarer premiums, mostly because there are fewer collectors interested in the series. Also there isn't that much difference in price for the rarer colors as the more common ones.
Thanks to Dan Tessier for adding information about the fact cards.

Matchbox Series 7: Space Aliens
Release Date: 1993
Colors: Painted but 5 base colors
Sculpts: 16
Location(s): UK, France, Germany and the rest of Europe
Series 7 decided to take the temperature changing concept of the Secret Skeletal dinosaurs and use it for the point values. Also instead of dinosaurs we got aliens. Series 7 is by far the most creative of the MIMP series as the aliens are almost completely original creations (excepting the obvious He-Man homage known as Blaster of the Universe).
The heat panels on the backs of the figures would show the point values and the affiliation of the alien (good or evil). Also the point values increased again all the way up to a maximum of 500 points. Essentially the aliens could only battle each other, because the other series were totally overmatched. Like each series other than Series 3, they also came with Battle cards.
The aliens used 5 colors: Pink, Olive Green, Neon Green, Blue and Orange. Most aliens came in 2-3 colors, though there are a couple with 4 colors. No monster was included in all 5 colors. There seems to be no price difference between uncommon and common colors for this series. However, the heat panels get easily damaged and perfect figures tend to go for slightly higher prices.
The Space Aliens are the last recognized Series of MIMP, but there were some numbered monsters after them that should probably be considered Series 8.

Later Dinosaurs (Series 8)
Release Date: Unknown (probably 1993-95)
Colors: Painted (2 per sculpt)
Sculpts: 4
Location(s): UK and probably other parts of Europe
The later dinosaurs were discovered to be just like MIMP with point values and numbers. They were released as a 4 pack with a Dinosaur Hologram Watch. There were 4 figures released in 2 different colors.
Each of the figures has 2 variants and the colors are Yellow, Blue-green, and Brown. The paint applications add a few colors, but they are simple applications. Even simpler than the Series 6 figures.
These figures are very rare but are not sought after by collectors. Mainly because they are the strangest looking dinosaurs you will ever see. They are numbered 223-226, much later than the Aliens. But there point value is more like that of the Series 6 Dinosaurs. As such they are an oddity in MIMP and are not given a Series designation, though they are released with the same packaging as the Series 6 Dinosaurs.
Update: Thanks to Al Sharpe for linking me to a picture of these mint in package. This picture also included the names and bios of the dinos!

Monster Wrestlers in My Pocket:
Release Date: 1995-1996
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 45
Location(s): UK, Germany, and probably other European countries.
These figures were only released in the UK, except for a few promotional figures that were released in Long John Silver's and White Castle. The promotional figures were much more simplistic versions of the original figures and had different sculpts. The figures were the same at both restaurants, only the packaging was different (the Long John's ones also came 1 to a pack, while White Castle had 2 wrestlers per pack). The Long John Silver's promos were released in 1995 and the White Castle Promos in 1996.
The first 9 regular Monster Wrestler figures were promotional figures in Kellogg's Frosties Cereal, 10-40 and 42 were sold in stores. They were originally released in single packs with Grapple Cards, then later on they released alternate colors with Pogs. Monsters 18 (Pirannah Piledriver), 28 (Man O Arms) and 40 (Referee 'Final' Countdown) were available in the Champions Set (and probably sold separately in stores as well.)
Monsters 23 (Bloodsucker the Vampire), 39 (Referee 'Double' Nelson) and 42 (Pinhead) were available in the Grappling Ring Set (and probably sold separately in stores as well). 41 and 43-45 were sold in stores as the Physio Terrorist Team (info from Raumhafen).
The variant black outfits for 16-17 were a mail away offer listed in the Monster Wrestler Comic Book (you would mail UPC's to get them).
The figures were large mostly humanoid and painted. The applications were slightly better than the series 4-7, but still rather primitive. The figures are based on wrestlerized versions of various monsters (like a Gillman in wrestling gear). There were various playsets and a board game made for the wrestlers.
The wrestlers have point values on their feet, along with Pogs to play games with. The figures were released in 1995, so like everything else they had to have Pogs. Several figures are known to have paint color variations in the Pog re-release, Hog Stomper, Toad Trasher, Gizzard the Lizard, Stickleback, Steel Slammer, Chain Gang Chomper and Bully Beef. Some of these were released via promotions (Toad Trasher and Gizzard), but the others appear to have been released to the public.
The figures are relatively cheap and not very popular. The rarer figures don't seem to command higher prices than the commons.
There were some figures with different paint applications and no numbers discovered a few years ago (picture below). These are believed to be prototypes as they were discovered at a car boot sale close to the original UK factory. Credit to Dielaughing from LRG for sharing a picture of them.
The wrestlers spawned 2 other similar series of figures.
Thanks to Dan Tessier for contributing more knowledge about the Monster Wrestler premiums and correcting my error on the point values. Big thanks to Mint on Card Cast for confirming, correcting and adding a bunch of info about the variants and release information

Monster Sport Stars in my Pocket
Release Date: 1996?
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 12
Location(s): UK, France, Germany and the rest of Europe
There were 3 different sets of these released in the UK all as cereal premiums in Kellogg's Frosties cereal. They are exactly like the Monster Wrestlers in my Pocket except that they are playing other sports than wrestling. Much like the Monster Wrestlers in my Pocket, the Sport Stars are relatively cheap and easy to find. I haven't seen any difference in prices among the figures.
There are 12 total figures, and each set had 4 figures that you could obtain by mailing off UPC's to Kelloggs. These sets were lettered A, B and C; with each monster being numbered 1-4 in that letter. I changed them to numbers 1-12 for simplicity in referring to them.
The Sport Stars were followed up by one more humanoid set...
Thanks to Raumhafen for information about this series.

Matchbox Ninja Warriors
Release Date: 1997?
Colors: Painted
Sculpts: 17
Location(s): UK, France, Germany and probably other parts of Europe
These were similar to the Wrestlers and Sports Stars in that they were humanoid painted figures. These are harder to find and the weapons actually command higher prices than the figures. There were 17 figures in the set and they were only released in Europe.
The weapons look like GI Joe-style mono-color weapons. They are hard plastic and often are difficult to discern from random weapons from other toys. The Ninjas themselves are much like the Wrestlers and Sports Stars except that they have hands that are made to hold the weapons. Also the color palette is slightly darker than most of the Wrestlers and Sports Stars.
Each figure came with pogs that contained the point value. The point value considered the warrior's skill and his weapon's power.
The Ninjas were the only MIMP set that came with detachable weapons and completed figures are harder to find. Figures 8 and 9 were promotional figures that came with the Twist a Fist set, and numbers 10 and 14 were only with the Crunch-Punch set. #17 was a mail-away figure and a repaint of #8.
Thanks to Raumhafen for information about the origins of the promotional figures. Pictures of Karate Sid and a few of the weapons come from CurlySam from LRG. Thanks to Daniel Tessier for pointing out information about Karate Sid.

Hardee's Dinosaurs
Release Date:
Colors: 6 (2 per sculpt)
Sculpts: 4
Location(s): US (possibly Canada)
Hardee's Dinosaurs were released only in the US in the Hardee's restaurants. There were 4 different sculpts each released in 2 different colors. There were Green, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Purple and Blue colors available.
The sculpts were simple and mono-colors and they included fact cards with the figures. The figures made were Tyrannosaurus, Brontosaurus (before its existence was disproved), Triceratops and Stegosaurus. Like most MIMP, they have point values on the figure. They are bigger than the original MIMP and more in scale with the Series 6 figures.
Hardee's figures are relatively inexpensive, but are more difficult to find than most MIMP. They are rarely labeled properly on Ebay listings.
